Coach

The title "piano teacher" conjures up images of a scowling nun holding a ruler which has never inspired musical creativity or trust in myself, personally speaking. I prefer the role of a coach who comes alongside, encouraging and pushing musicians to be better. Although my time and energy is spent in my full time job as a dad and worship arts pastor, I am honored to invest in the musical development of several budding young musicians part time.

I can share more about my personal philosophy of teaching music over coffee, but youngsters simply need exposure, encouragement, and a good dose of ear training and theory. With those few key elements I feel confident that a person's musical development will happen quite organically. I appreciate and value the countless mentors and coaches who have invested in my music career and I am surprised and honored to find myself offering direction and insight into this crazy industry on "the other side."
